Michael Knox, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Deputy Director of The Boggs Center on Developmental Disabilities and an associate member of the Institute for Health, Health Care Policy, and Aging Research. He is working with the Center for State Health Policy on research regarding Medicaid beneficiaries with intellectual and developmental disabilities. His expertise is in health and social policy affecting people with developmental disabilities and their families. Dr. Knox serves as research coordinator and chairs the centerís evaluation team. He also manages the Centerís strategic and budget planning efforts. A licensed social worker, he has served as a field instructor for MSW interns in management and policy from Rutgers University and Fordham University. Prior to coming to The Boggs Center, Dr. Knox served in a variety of policy and planning positions in the Office of the Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Human Services and in its Division of Developmental Disabilities. Dr. Knox earned his PhD in Social Work from Rutgers University. He also holds a Masterís in Government Administration from the Fels Institute of Government at the University of Pennsylvania and an MSW in Social Policy Analysis and Planning from Rutgers University.
