Michelle Kennedy (MPH, UMDNJ School of Public Health) is a Research Analyst working on a five-year childhood obesity project, the Impact of Environmental Changes on Children’s BMI and Behavior: A Panel Study. The prospective study will follow a panel of 1100 children in five cities with predominantly low-income populations in NJ. Her primary role will involve developing and implementing a protocol for documenting changes in the food and physical activity environments of these children. Prior to joining the Center, she worked for the UMDNJ-School of Public Health as Fieldwork Coordinator and oversaw the required practicum portion of the Master of Public Health degree. Other experience includes community health education, Institutional Review Board (IRB) administration and research support for Institute for Health, Health Care Policy and Aging Research. She received her BA in Geography and Economics from Towson University, Towson, MD and MPH in Health Education/Behavioral Science from the UMDNJ-School of Public Health.
