Shahla Amin, M.S.

Shahla Amin (M.S. University of Southampton, UK, 1998) is a Research Project Manager at the Institute for Health, Health Care Policy, and Aging Research. She is currently conducting data analyses of Medicare Current Beneficiary Survey (MCBS) data for projects on depression in the elderly. These include looking at the treatment of depression, disparities in access to care, depression related costs and the quality of health care. She is also working on identifying patterns of psychotropic drug use among youth using the Medicaid Analytic Extracts (MAX). Prior to moving to the US and joining Rutgers, Shahla held previous positions as a statistician supporting clinical trials at Cancer Research UK and at Glaxo Welcome in London. She also worked in banking as a statistical analyst for two years.
