Jose Nova (M.S., University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey) is a Research Assistant at the Center for State Health Policy. He is a graduate of Project L/EARN, a competitive research training program of the Institute for Health, Health Care Policy and Aging Research at Rutgers University. Mr. Nova joined CSHP in June 2004 as a Project Research Assistant, preparing datasets and conducting descriptive statistical analysis on numerous projects. Mr. Nova currently provides data management, statistical analysis, documentation and support for the Effects of Hospital Closure on Healthcare Quality project. He has also contributed to the data analysis of the New Brunswick Health Assessment Survey, New Jersey State Physician Census, Traumatic Brain Injury Assessment, NJ Family Care Survey, NJ Family Health Survey, as well as technical support for other ongoing projects. In addition, he develops and maintains the CSHP web site. Prior to joining CSHP, Mr. Nova was an Assistant Lab Supervisor for Rutgers University Computing Services. He received his Masters of Science in Biomedical Informatics from the UMDNJ School of Health Related Professions and a B.S. in Economics from Rutgers University.
