Center for Mental Health Services & Criminal Justice Research Launched

The Institute's Center for Mental Health Services & Criminal Justice Research, funded by the National Institute of Mental Health, was launched on September 1, 2002. The Center is designed to improve the ways in which the mental health and criminal justice systems respond to the needs of persons with mental illness and to inform the policies that are intended to affect these responses. The multidisciplinary team affiliated with the Center is situated in a "borderless" research environment that includes researchers and research sites located around the country, including the University of Massachusetts Medical School and University of Pennsylvania. The Center provides research and grantwriting assistance to state agencies and practice organizations, as well as postdoctoral training and mentoring. For more details, see the Center's website.
