Project L/EARN Recruits Nursing Students

With funding from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation the directors of Project L/EARN have made concerted efforts to recruit more undergraduate nursing students into the program. The programís intensive research training, strong faculty mentorship and socialization into an academic/research role help to prepare nursing students to move into academia to fill the ranks of needed nursing faculty. In demonstrating the value of an academic career, Project L/EARN can accelerate the progression from baccalaureate to graduate programs and into faculty positions. The program is also educating the next generation of nurse researchers who will contribute to the evidence-based practice of nursing to improve the health and health care of the population.
